IKEA: My Future Family

A shopping experience that takes a peek into your future family

IKEA has a vision to make room for China's families. We created an interactive experience to inspire every couple to see how wonderful a family could be.

We used the face-merging technology to combine the couples faces. The results are shown on e-photo frames that are hung at the IKEA showroom, waiting to be discovered by the expectant parents.

They don't need to wait for 9 months to see what their future family will look like. They just need to be there to see it.

Interactive Booth Interface

Making the future appealing through interactive shopping experience

User Journey

1

At the entrance computer booth, couple will need to scan the QR code to allow the system to instantly create their account on the My Future Family’s H5 (HTML 5). They also have to give their permission for the booth to scan their faces. After completing the process, they can now go through the different rooms.

2

The rooms were set up like a real family home. Each room has a digital picture frame that generates how their future baby could possibly look like at 1, 2, 4, and 6 years old. Baby’s face was generated using facial recognition technology and was based on parents’ facial characteristics.

3

At the end of their journey, the couple can download pictures of their future baby through My Future Family’s H5 in their WeChat.
